In testing various available 24v springs, we found that valve float and resulting cam, lifter, valve, and retainer damage was common as over 5,000 is reached or as boost surpassed 100 psi. After destroying tappets and a camshaft on Todd’s 6.4L P-pumped 24v and destroying valves and chromoly retainers on Myer’s 6.7L common rail, we have developed a new race conical valve spring with enough seat pressure to handle 100+ boost and a conical design to dampen valve spring harmonics that occur between 5,000 and 6,000 rpm. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eWe recommend these valve springs for all 24v Cummins engines pushing over 80 psi boost and\/or 4,800 rpm.
